In the vicinity of the Visitors’ Centre in Via Pisani, the memorial is a tribute to the many workers, especially on the construction site, who died of asbestos-related diseases. It bears a sentence by writer Massimo Carlotto: “They built the stars of the sea, dust killed them, profit betrayed them.”
