Albergo Impiegati and the Villas

Careful restoration has brought the splendid building designed by engineer Dante Fornasir, formerly home to the Albergo Impiegati (Employee Hotel) for the shipyard employees, back to life. The structure had 120 rooms, all valuable guest services, as well as a dining hall decorated with columns. On the upper part of the main façade, the decorated frieze recalls the industrial work and traditions of the area.
The building still houses a modern hotel, a training school, several institutions and the new museum exhibition La porta di Panzano, dedicated to the Bianchi and Cividini fund archives. In the same area, the Villas built for high-ranking employees and executives of the Shipyard can be seen. The structures, both single and semi-detached, are an example of various artistic and architectural styles (Gothic, Parisian, Secessionist) and the use of multiple materials, creating a residential area with trees of immense value.
