The Monfalcone Municipal Library, established in 1960 in the Palazzetto Veneto, since 2005 has found accommodation in the renovated building in Via Ceriani 10, which until then had been the seat of educational institutions. The library hosts numerous cultural and literary events. On one wall of the entrance hall is a large wooden panel inspired by the legend of the Princess and the Troubadour, created in 1959 by Tranquillo Marangoni to decorate the interior of the Stelvio motor vessel.
Also located in the Library building is the Historical Archive, which holds a collection of documents covering a historical period of 500 years, from the mid-15th century to the present day. By reading its papers, we can retrace the territory’s history. It contains around 200 documents that can be freely consulted.
