The Pietrarossa Visitor Centre and Multimedia Museum, located near the lake of the same name in the Doberdò and Pietrarossa Lakes Regional Nature Reserve, was created to develop a place for environmental education. It represents one of the essential naturalistic structures in the Karst area of Monfalcone for the recovery and research of its biodiversity.
To enhance the area, the municipal administration has recently set up a multimedia museum equipped with touch screens and visors that allow the exploration of nature from above with 360° projected drones.
Starting from the visitor centre, the Karst landscape of Monfalcone offers a natural setting of remarkable beauty, enriched by a high-level tourist and cultural offer. Excursions on foot or by bicycle, guided tours by experts, educational meetings and in-depth information on nature, the environment and local culture are possible.
The Visitor Centre is easily accessible by car and on Saturday mornings is connected to the city centre by a free shuttle bus.
